COVID PROTOCOL QUESTIONS

Our club intends to follow all protocols and guidelines set out by Skate Canada, Skate Ontario, Southwestern Public Health and The City of St. Thomas

Our Board of Directors takes this seriously and will be creating a COVID defensive culture. This information is current as of December 2021.

FAQ: Do I need to be vaccinated to enter the arena?

A: Any person 12 years of age or older must show proof of vaccination with a valid government issued ID to enter the facility. The City of St. Thomas has hired a security company to facilitate this process as per direction from the Provincial Government. The STSC does not facilitate this process.

FAQ: Will dressing rooms be available?

A: Skaters should arrive at the arena dressed and ready for their session. If it is not possible to put on skates at home or in the car, you can briefly use dressing room. Please limit your time in the dressing room and only 1 adult may accompany a skater. Capacity for this is limited due to the need to physically distance.  If the facility changes this, we will advise our membership.  Please ensure physical distancing at 2 meters or 6 feet.

FAQ: Are face coverings needed while on the ice?

A: The Letter of Instruction issued by Southwestern Public Health (July 30, 2020) indicates that face coverings are exempt during athletic performance. All coaches and adults assisting will be wearing face coverings. Skaters are required to wear a face covering into the arena and should bring a paper bag or equivalent to store their mask with their guards. They should not leave their mask on the ground or on a ledge, the boards or steps.

FAQ: Will I be able to enter the area with my child?

A: The arena staff has verified we are permitted to have spectators.  Each person entering the arena must complete the mandatory city health screening prior to entry.  The health screening can be done online by taking a photo of the QR code at entrances to the arena or at https://frm-cvd-ca.esolg.ca/St-Thomas/Screening-Form .  Completed screening is date specific and required to be shown for entry.

FAQ: How will I know if there is a COVID case on my child's session?

It is important that you check in with our club volunteers upon arrival who are tracking attendance. In the case of a positive COVID case, you will be notified via email. Your contact information will be provided to Southwestern Public Health for follow up.

FAQ: What is the refund Policy of the St.Thomas Skating Club?

A: Last updated: February 28, 2021
